MECHANICAL DAM SCOOPS

The BPI Mechanical Dam Scoop has been ruggedly constructed for rough terrain usage. Some of the applications this machine is suitable for includes: leveling lands, fields and roads where soil erosion has taken place after heavy rain fall, slopes and contours can also be leveled. This machine can also be used to repair water damaged gravel roads, and works well for cleaning out farm dams that have been filled with soil and silt. The Dam Scoop is also used effectively on construction sites to level construction areas. The Dam Scoop is mounted on the tractor’s hydraulic lift unit and universal three-point linkage system. The quick filling bucket ensures fast removing of unwanted soil and silt, and the spring-loaded trip lever on the scoop is easily operated from the tractor driver’s seat using a rope. Minimum spillage is prevented as the bucket has been designed with a 45˚ inclination on the top of the bucket. The Dam Scoop is easily operated by any person and with some basic adjustments, the Dam Scoop can adhere to any given conditions.

HYDRAULIC TRAILED DAM SCOOP

The Hydraulic Trailed Dam Scoop has been designed for quicker and more effective clearing of soil and silt. With a higher output capacity, this Dam Scoop reduces the time spent on certain tasks. With various settings and operating advantages over the mechanical models, it makes the Hydraulic Trailed Dam Scoop a more desirable machine. The PA2500 model can be trailed in tandem, in other words doubling the output capacity. The PA2500 has a unique leveling blade, which ensures a level bed when dumping the content of the Dam Scoop. With basic adjustments, this machine is also very easily operated by the tractor operator. The PA5000 is a fully trailed Dam Scoop, completely carried by its own four-wheel and chassis system. The drawbar is easily attachable to the tractor drawbar by means of a manual parking jack. The advantage of the 5 m³ Hydraulic Trailed Dam Scoop is that a bigger area can be covered before dumping the contents of the bucket. This enables the operator to get the task at hand done in a much shorter span of time. With a fully hydraulic leveling, height and depth adjustment, this Dam Scoop is easily operated by a single driver. Both the PA5000 and PA2500 work effectively to clear soil and silt from farm dams, leveling of fields and lands, as well as repairing damaged gravel roads and leveling construction
sites for construction areas.

2 4 6 Disc Ridger

This primary soil tillage machine is mounted on the tractor’s hydraulic lifting unit and universal three-point linkage system, therefore transportation to the field can be done easily. These Disc Ridgers are used for making one, two or three ridges or seedbeds, and opening canals. Depending on the user’s requirements, disc angles can be adjusted up to 45˚. This machine is mainly used by vegetable farmers. By means of the adjustable hangers on the machine, the row spacing of canals and ridges can be adjusted from 300 mm to 1500 mm. This machine is manufactured from a 150 mm x 150 mm H-beam toolbar. The bearings are heavy duty flange-type bearings mounted on a 32 mm hanger with a heavy duty shaft and flange, accommodating either a 610 mm or 660 mm disc (scalloped or plain).

RIDGERS
RIDGER COMBINATION

Ridger Combination

Disc Ridger Combination units are most regularly used for final seedbed preparations. This Combination Ridger does the work of three implements in a single process which involves the ridge being made by the two adjustable discs: the adjustable blade that levels the ridge top, the roller that breaks clods, and leaving a perfectly formed, ready to be planted ridge. As with the normal Disc Ridger, the same adjustments can be made on the disc to increase ridge width, ridge height and form. The blade and roller are also adjustable to different heights to ensure a perfect ridge being formed every time. Add-ons that are available include: a fertilizer bin which puts fertilizer under the ridge in that way adding another process to making the seedbed. This Combination Ridger is ideal for the vegetable farmer.

SHARE RIDGER

Share Ridger

The Share Ridger has the option of opening furrows or ridges as demanded. The width can also be adjusted according the operator’s requirements by changing the configuration of the mouldboard connection on the main frame enabling the machine to make water channels, open furrows and ridges between rows, and ridging. Furthermore, de-weeding of existing ridges where the mouldboards meet in the centre is used as a furrow opener, and when changed from the centre to a configuration of a mouldboard right and left, the machine can be used as a Ridger. Fertilizer bins can also be fitted to fertilize while cleaning the furrows.

S-TINE TILLER SERIES

S Tine Tiller Series

This secondary soil tillage machine is mounted on the tractor’s hydraulic lifting unit and universal three-point linkage system, therefore transportation to the field can be done easily. These tillers are secondary soil tillage machines that has been developed for light cultivation, weed control and seedbed preparation and at the same time aerates and loosens the upper layer of the soil. The optimum working depth is between 50 mm to 100 mm at a speed of 8 to 12 kilometers per hour. The 2.0 m, 2.5 m, 3.0 m, 3.4 m and 4 m tillers come standard with a roller / crumbler and for the 6.0 m and 8.0 m hydraulically folding tiller. The roller / crumbler is an optional extra. The roller / crumbler will leave a clod-free seedbed. The tines are manufactured from 300 mm x 10 mm high tensile spring steel. Each tine is fitted with a 100 mm single-hole sweep. This sweep can be replaced with a chisel point.

OTMA TILLER SERIES

OTMA Tiller

The OTMA Tiller series is a double coil spring-loaded tine and is fitted with reversible chisel point. The spring-loaded action allows one to work in stony and harder soil conditions. It is ideal for aerating grass pastures and loosening soil up to 200 mm deep. By changing the chisel points to “V-Sweeps”, this machine can also be used to cultivate weeds and make seedbeds. When the tines encounter any obstructions under the ground the tine will disengage from the soil and re-engage once it has passed over the obstruction. These tillers are suitable for any soil conditions with easily adjustable row spacing.

VIBRO FLEX TILLER SERIES

Vibro Flex Tiller Series

The BPI Vibro Flex series is a fully-mounted cultivator equipped with vibrating tines in working widths from 2.0 m up to 4.0 m and is mounted on the three-point linkage of the tractor for up to 100 kilowatt tractors. The optimum operating speed is 12 kilometers per hour to allow the Virbo tines to have the necessary vibrating effect to ensure maximum efficiency of the tines. These Vibro Flex Tillers can be used for weeding, cultivation of soil and also work effectively for seedbed preparation. Advantages achieved by using the BPI Vibro Flex are: the soil is completely worked and re-consolidated in one pass, optimum seedbed preparation according to different soil types, soil top layer is loose and allows for faster germination, and better hydration and oxygenation of the top layer of soil to enhance plant growth. Depth-control wheels are available as an optional add-on. Depth-control is easily achieved by adjusting wheels up or down and an optional roller attachment can be mounted to the rear of the Vibro Tiller allowing for a smoother seedbed that is clod-free.

The Hydraulic Folding Vibro Flex series is available in 6.0 m and 8.0 m and is designed to fold up so that transporting it is easier and not as bulky. The 6.0 m and 8.0 m models come standard with depth-control wheels and the height can be set enabling the machine to maintain the working depth throughout the working process. Rollers / crumbler are available as optional extras allowing for a smoother seedbed which is clod-free.

INTER ROW CULTIVATOR WITH FERTILIZER BINS

Inter Row Cultivator

This series of Inter Row Cultivators are soil-tillage machines which are mounted from the tractor’s hydraulic lifting unit and universal three-point linkage system. The cultivators are manufactured in different models depending on the planter used. The models are 3, 4, 5 and 7 unit machines. The main uses for these machines are to cultivate between the rows after the crop has grown up to about 300 mm in height. The Inter Row Cultivator can also be used to apply top-dressing fertilizer to promote growth of the planted crop, maximizing the yield potential and at the same time de-weeding and aerating the soil. With loose top soil, reception of moisture is higher thus penetrating the soil more effectively. Protection shoulder plates prevent covering of young plants with soil during cultivation. Individual depth-control on each unit can be adjusted according to the plant size and user preference whilst independent moving units keep the working depth stable on an uneven land. The centre units are full carts as where the side carts are only half cart thus preventing the cultivator unearthing any plants that are not planted 900 mm apart as a result of the planter markers not being set correctly while the planting process took place.

Straight Curved Tine Rippers 620

This primary soil tillage machine is mounted on the tractor’s hydraulic lifting unit and universal three-point linkage system, therefore transportation to the field can be done easily. The mounting tower has been welded at 90˚on a “V” Frame constructed out of 100 mm x 150 mm x 10 mm rectangular tubing. The tine assemblies are bolted on for easy row spacing to the user’s requirements. These machines are mainly used for breaking and aerating wheel tracks and hard core banks underground that are caused by many years of ploughing. This is also known as “plough banks” and these rippers / sub soilers break the “plough bank” and can work from 350 mm to 750 mm, thus allowing moisture, nutrients and the roots of the plant to penetrate deeper with ease. These rippers / sub soilers come in various models and sizes from 1 tine to 7 tines, straight and curved tines and different working depths from 350 mm to 750 mm. The design of the tine allows for minimum soil disruption / disturbance thus preserving moisture in the soil. The tines are protected by a shear bolt protection system and the shear bolt is easily replaced when the tine encounters any obstruction underground. The points are reversible and replaceable.

BPI Auto Reset Heavy Duty Ripper

Two models are available with working depths from 350 mm up to 550 mm deep, depending on the model purchased. Top quality components are used in the manufacturing of the BPI Auto Reset Ripper / Sub Soiler. The shape of the tines provides good penetration, even in hard and dry soil conditions. All components used are heat-treated to stand up to the extreme tough conditions these Rippers / Sub Soilers work in. The auto-reset tines and autoreset leaf spring protection maximises strength and durability in the toughest conditions. In the event of hitting an immoveable obstruction, individual leaf springs allow each leg to trip and ride over the obstacles, returning to their original position automatically. A standard tine spacing of 300 mm is effective in most conditions, but tine position can be adjusted to suit different situations from 300 mm to 600 mm. The “bolt-on” bracket provides a flexible construction with optimal possibilities to adjust the tine spacing and at the same time have the option to increase the amount of tines, thus enabling the user to rip / sub soil the land completely and not only in lines. A robust roller to break up clods and seals in moisture is also available as an optional extra for all models.

The Extra Heavy Duty type Offset Disc Harrow is a trailed type on two wheels. This extra heavy duty Offset is available in a range of sizes from 40 discs to 44 discs with a working depth of 150 mm to 250 mm. This machine has adjustable disc gangs. Being BPI’s flagship Disc Harrow, the T-Rex weighs in at 125 kg per disc. The AOFEHD 44 has a total weight of 5.3 tons with excellent soil penetration. ATM SERIES FULL HALF TANDEM

The cutting and soil turning action of the Tandem Disc Harrow varies with the diameter, weight and concavity of its blades, blade spacing and the angle of the Disc Harrow gang relative to the direction of travel, as well as the operating speed. In dry land farming, the Disc Harrow can help prepare overwinter stubble or prepare the land for seedbeds. In a mulch-till system that includes soil-structure improvement as part of de-weeding of lands, a Tandem Disc Harrow with 510 mm diameter discs adequate disc spacing could create a seedbed for a winter cover crop by partially incorporating harvested stubble knocking the stubs down and covering the crop residue creating a rough seedbed of overwinter residue. By managing plant residue, organic fertilizer will be increased in the soil and rain water will penetrate the soil with ease. The Tandem Disc Harrow can also run shallowly just before planting to eliminate all surface weeds and prepare seedbeds. This machine is manufactured from various materials depending on the model. The bearings are heavy duty ranging from flange-type bearings to grease-housing bearings. The gang shafts are high tension steel and the cast iron spacers are very robust. The disc configuration is scalloped discs on the front gangs and scalloped discs on the rear gangs. The disc sizes vary from 510 mm to 610 mm depending on the model. Tandem disc gangs are configured like an “X” with the front gangs left and right, lead with the outside ends ahead and angle back toward the centre. The back gangs are in the mirror position; have the inner ends leading in the centre of the tool and outside ends angling back. Gang angle is fixed at 18˚ or 20˚, or adjustable at lesser angles. Half Tandem Disc Harrows are also available. The gangs are configured like a “V” enabling the operator to cut contour lands and smaller fields enabling the operator to turn and manoeuvre the implement with ease.

These One Way Disc Harrows are all configured in a straight line and the discs are set at the same vertical angle. This arrangement allows the harrow to cut faster and handle heavy stubble fields very well. It also breaks hard sun-baked soil and destroys weeds. Farmers had traditionally treated stubble as a nuisance, burned the stubbles and residue from the previous harvest, however stubble and residue should be used as an advantage to make organic fertilizer. Instead of completely burning the stubble as in the past, the One Way Disc Harrow incorporates the stubble and residue into the upper layer of the topsoil to serve as mulch and help conserve moisture and reduce erosion by wind and water. One Way Disc Harrows are available in different sizes from 6 discs to 9 discs to accommodate different sizes of tractors.

SK Graders Series Mechanical 3 Point Linkage

BPI grader blades are mounted to tractors by a three-point linkage system. These grader blades can be used in various applications for example: making gravel roads, land leveling, opening and filling ditches, dirt race tracks and landscaping. The three-point mechanical models can also be used as a dozer by turning the mouldboard around for repairing ditches for drainage, backfilling holes and trenches. Other possible applications include the distribution of topsoil and gravel. The gradient and angle of the blade belonging to the mechanical grader module variety can be adjusted mechanically and the hydraulic model from the tractor’s seat. The weight advantage allows for making gravel roads and the position of the blade can be adjusted to 9 different angles of grading. Two size models are available (3.0 m and 3.6 m) and all blades are produced from special steel to prevent corrosion and breaking.
